  2. Anything that might be of interest to Slitscan’s audience

“Anything that might be of interest to Slitscan’s audience. Which is best visualized as a vicious, lazy, profoundly ignorant, perpetually hungry organism craving the warm god-flesh of the anointed. Personally I like to imagine something the size of a baby hippo, the color of a week-old boiled potato, that lives by itself, in the dark, in a double-wide on the outskirts of Topeka. It’s covered with eyes and it sweats constantly. The sweat runs into those eyes and makes them sting. It has no mouth, Laney, no genitals, and can only express its mute extremes of murderous rage and infantile desire by changing the channels on a universal remote. Or by voting in presidential elections.”

  6. Evil has many faces

Evil has many faces. A man who laughs, The master of Metropolis, The Guardian of fear, A conqueror of worlds. Many faces, but just one name: The supervillain. Powerful, charismatic, intelligent, ruthless. The supervillain reflects our fears and frustrations, the dangers and perils of everyday life. They commit the heinous crimes we will not. And in a world where right and wrong are not absolute, where shades of grey exist in life as well as the comic page, evil isn’t just unavoidable, it’s necessary.

    1. The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
    2. Django Unchained (2012)*
    3. Hellboy 2: The Golden Army (2008)*
    4. Se7en (1995)*
    5. Last Action Hero (1996)*
    6. Scream (1996)*
    1. Knights of Badassdom (2013)
    2. Chasing Ice (2012)
    3. Beware of Mr. Baker (2013)
    4. Justice League: War (2014)
    5. Dead in Tombstone (2013)
    6. Nurse 3D (2014)
    7. Her (2013)
    8. Flight (2012)
    9. American Hustle (2013)

  10. 00:00:59 Abby: My name is Abigail Russell. I look like a slut, but don’t be fooled. This is merely a disguise to lure the dangerous predators who walk among us. This is their jungle, their breeding ground. And tonight, I am on the hunt. These are the cheaters. The married, lying scum. They are like diseased cells, cultured in alcoholic Petri dishes that destroy unsuspecting families. And infect millions of innocent vaginas. There is no cure for the married cock. Only me. The nurse.

  12. None of their voices were real

None of their voices were real, even; it was all digital stuff. God-eater could just as well be a woman, or three different people, or all three of the ones he’d seen there might’ve been just one person. He thought about the woman in the wheelchair at Cognitive Dissidents. It could be her. It could be anybody. That was the spooky thing about these hackers.

  14. No one paid any particular attention

No one paid any particular attention to Crow Daddy and his snoozing passengers as they left Anniston on the old Granite State Highway, headed west. With a few notable exceptions (sharp-eyed old ladies and little kids were the worst), Rube America was staggeringly unobservant even twelve years into the Dark Age of Terrorism. If you see something, say something was a hell of a slogan, but first you had to see something.
